This is our house. Our ugly little split level. This photo was taken last winter but not much has changed. We have big dreams for the place but more than anything I'm just ecstatic to call somewhere home. Ben and I are 28 years old. We've been married 5 years. And we just bought a house.
The GOAL: Pay it off as quickly as we can. Then fix it up to be our dream home.
$188,000 to go before we own it outright.
Our current combined teacher salary (after taxes) is approximately
$36,000 a year. If we spent literally ALL of our money earned we could do it in 5 years. But alas, we have other life expenses. If we poured HALF of our annual salary into the house, we could wipe it out in ten years. This is not recommended to live a stable life but I don't want to pay anymore mortgage payments then we need to.
So off we go! Wish us luck!
